Who am I?
So glad you asked… My name is Lauraine Laino and I am a Filmmaker/Photographer based on Long island New York (yes on, not in. Can you tell I’m a native?). I’ve been enjoying films since I was a child, and in adolescence made the bold decision to pursue Film and Entertainment as a career path. Knowing the road wont be easy pushes me to make the best content that I can and always work on my skills. I enjoy all parts of production from writing, to sound mixing, to editing but I feel most at home working with actors and a script. Directing since high school aided me in my pursuit of a bachelors degree in Film. In my free time I enjoy creating my own editorial makeup looks and spending time with my four (4) dogs.
What can I bring to the table?
Again, thank you for asking… Working in production for the past four years in various positions has taught me to respect all parties that go into creating a remarkable project. With the formal training by other industry professionals, a connection to the younger audience (yes I am gen z, but I’m like the grandma of gen z so I wont “cancel” you, promise), and being a woman in the film industry, I see everyday how young women are treated in society. With my works, I aim to break down stereotypes and unfair assumptions given to women by the patriarchy.
